As an Assistant Director, I had the opportunity to witness the growth of a production beginning with casting and table reads online to tech rehearsal and live productions. This was one of the most challenging productions I have ever worked on.

I learned how to apply the personal relationship we experience in live theatre and transfer that connection through a live camera. I found a new relationship to body and space. Being conscious of visibility, tone, and intention strongly influenced my contribution to this show.

Working with actors and reflecting on the overwhelming sensations of childhood dreams was a powerful reminder of the intense lens through which young girls view the world.

I loved working on this production. Dancing as a form of non-verbal communication is innately human. My takeaway from this show, is that young girls are unstoppable and growing up is complicated.
